White Water Rafting River Tay
The River Tay is in the Southern Highlands of Scotland originating from beyond Loch Tay.
It is also the longest River in Scotland at 120 miles in length and the largest river in the UK with a catchment area of approximately 2000 square miles.
The Tay hosts some of the best white water rafting in Perthshire available wither a beginner or expert.
The rafting experience begins at Aberfeldy, the heart of Scotland.
You will enter the water where it is calm and ideal for practising your skills and paddling techniques with the tuition of an experienced guide.
These calmer stretches of water give you time to take in some spectacular views of the Tay valley while gradually your adrenaline starts to pump. Safe in the hands of your guide you start the adventure down to Grandtully, a 6 mile stretch where we paddle through the meandering path of the River Tay.
As we approach midway point the river will start to change and the skills that you have learnt will come into practice as we hit rapids such as the ‘zoom flume’ and the unforgivable ‘washing machine’. These rapids will take us down to Grandtully where the unforgettable journey comes to and end, here you can get your feet back onto dry land and start planning your next white water rafting adventure.
This trip makes for a great introduction to the thrills and adventure of white water rafting in Perthshire.
